I am a diversity, inclusion, and violence prevention professional working on disruptive and transformative projects in diverse regions and sectors around the world.
I work with government and corporate partners on deconstructing gender norms and creating innovative violence prevention programming. I spend a lot of time in hospitality, technology, extractive, and post-secondary organizations internally and externally to help foster more inclusive, safe, and successful environments.
It is vital now more than ever that businesses have effective workplace harassment, sexual violence, inclusive spaces, and reporting policies. Businesses need to take the time to train their teams to have a thorough understanding of the policy and processes. It is important to remember that these policies help form your organizational culture. They aren’t about telling employees what will get them in trouble but instead highlighting conduct and behaviour that will make them and your organization successful.
